That guys posted it for sale on HT & HA for a while...
He's really asking top dollar though....I wouldnt spend $18.7k on a 97 just for the fact its a 97, when for around the same price you could score an '00 with half the mileage...

I know this car! I've seen it in person. It's John Epstein's. I don't really know John very well, but he autocrossed this car in the SCCA Phila region. This car won Phila region D-stock this year by a huge margin. It really is in pristine condition. And having seen it up close, it really does look like it's been babied and pampered. John was the original owner of this car IIRC.

there's much more to it than little interior change, a motor, and a spring/shock combo.
if you don't believe me, try and keep up with one on the track.

Looks very - very nice to me. Only I got my 97' for a steal at $15,000 w/ 37,000 miles. never modded, never tracked, clean record
.
I think $17,000 -$17,500 would be a much more fair price for this ITR

Okay, here goes. The car has not been for sale that long (about a week to a week and a half). I have gotten a lot of interest in the car but no concrete offers yet. And, while my buy it now price is $18,700, my reserve price is significantly lower than that so I think there is a good chance it will sell. I can tell you though that any Type R that is only $15,000 is only going to be a lot of headache (ie- frame damage from an accident, abused, heavily modified etc...) This car is beautiful but my wife doesn't want to have to cram a child seat in the back of a coupe so it will have to go. I am reasonable and will consider reasonable offers but this isn't a fire sale either. I promise that anyone who saw this car would not be disappointed.

However. I wanted to congratulate you on reaching your reserve in your auction
Some bidder is gonna be a very lucky man/woman
