Default 87 honda fuel pump

Hi. Does anybody know the correct gph or psi for 87 honda with carb? I've seen different ones all have different gph and psi. Had in one that was 30gph. 2psi low 4 psi hi. I've had one with 15gph. Right now I've got one in from advanced auto (carquest) but it is making car run very low rpm and stall. When I cover the carb limiting air in at idle it smooths out. I'm gessing low fuel hi air. Can anybody help? I'm changing back out to an airtex E8269H fuel pump assembly but last time I had it in the carb went really bonkers. Hi fuel smell and was dumping fuel threw the carb so much had to send it to be rebuilt (I'm gessing to high of a psi or gph (says hi is 40gph 4psi but shows for my car on amazon) any help would be great. Thanks

Carburetors do well with about 8psi. If you're using something in excess of that, which I don't advise, it will be best to get an adjustable fuel regulator. That way you can attempt taming the WAY TOO HIGH pressure from the pump. This usually burns the pumps out prematurely however.

If you're going with an inline fuel pump, holley makes small mighty mite fuel pumps that would be ideal for you. Check out summit racing.com for one suited for a carburetor. Be safe bro.
