Default B16a ek swap won’t start

I have a JDM b16a swap into my 97ex civic. The motor cranks but I cannot get it to start. When I started inspecting more I notice it was not getting fuel. I put in a new fuel pump and assembly along with a new main relay and a fuel filter but I still can’t get the fuel pump to prime when I turn to the key. For the time being we jumped the fuel pump with a battery and got It to prime and get fuel to the fuel rail. When I tried to crank the motor again the injectors where not working. After this I looked at my ECU and obd1 jumper harness and everything was plugged in fine. I even tried to do the obd1 paper clip in plug engine code check but nothing would flash on my gauges all there is a lit up check engine light. I have no idea why any of the fuel systems working at this point. So I’d someone could help id really appreciate

Is it a good quality jumper harness? The cheap ones can have terrible connection issues

I did by the jumper harness off of eBay for like $20 so maybe that might be it. Do you know where to get a high quality one?

Yes I made sure that was connected when I installed the wire harness.

Check for power and ground at the ecu? Same for the main relay?

Turn key from OFF to ON(II). Does CEL stay on steady or does it turn on and then off after 2 seconds?

Ok first when I turn the key to on, I don’t hear the fuel pump and the engine light stays on constantly it does not flash or go off.

Second I did have to get a new wire harness because all the connections where cracked or broken on the original. My old one was for my 97 ex civic and the new one I bought came out of a 96 ex civic auto.

I had exactly the same issue with my B18 swap. I spent two weeks, and many hours checking continuity of Every single wire on the loom before I gave up and swapped it for another loom, it started up straight away. However It did keep losing connection with the tps and map sensor where it connected to the jumper so had to bypass the plugs with a small length of wire. I now use a speed factory jumper and so far so good. I will never use a Chinese jumper again. Good luck with it.
