Advice: using Hondabond oil pan
There are very little directions on how to use this on the package.
I'm think about just following the instructions for other hi-temp RTV:
Not planning on using a gasket
I'm just planning on making a 1/8" bead on the pan and then finger tighten bolts, let cure to rubbery hardness then torque to spec (after like 12 hours of curing)
Then wait 3 days to fill with oil.
Does this sound like a plan?

Although I would normally say get a gasket if you can get it, using Hondabond is just like using Permatex (grey I believe). Should work fine the way you are going about it.
I've done both and seen little improvement of one method over the other.

I like to use gaskets and put a thin amount of RTV in the corners of the block surface only to seal them and allow reuse. This way you can drop the pan if necessary and the gasket will stay in place so you can use it again. It's important not to overtighten the bolts as well because they will squish the gasket to the point where it splits and render it useless.
I have a gasket that came with the pan.
I think I will Hondabond gasket to the pan, to hold it precisely for installation, let it cure, and then bolt it up with a few spots of Hondabond on top of gasket, (if block surface looks at all unsmooth.)
That way should be easier to remove pan later.

the reason I say that is I want it to hold the gasket securely for installation, it seems to be stretched just a little to line up all the bolt holes.
I would just be letting it cure between the pan and the gasket. If I end up applying any Hondabond between the gasket and the block, I will bolt it down first and let it cure after.
Also, (different situation, granted) the directions for hi-temp RTV have people finger tightening, until it cures, then torquing down all the way. (Otherwise I imagine you squeeze too much material out the side)
