Default Obd2b to obd1

I’m running a chipped p28 in my 99 hatch b16a2 swap and my tach stopped working im sure it’s because I have a obd2 dizzy...Is there a way to modify my current one for it to work or do I just buy a conversion harness ?

It’s the only one with a connector and butt on it if you have a factory harness. Connect the two. Your tach will work fine. Add some shrink wrap or electrical tape and add it to your harness and your tach works. I had the same issue. Good luck!
I have a similar issue too on my b16a2 swapped hatch, I just put in a chipped p28 and everything works fine but my tach stays at 0 but when I plug in the stock p2t ecu it works. Do I have to get a obd1 dizzy and get the obd2b to obd1 harness or can I modify my current one to fix the tach ?

Default Tach not working

I recently put a chipped p28 in my b16a2 swapped ek hatch and my tach just sat at 0. I know it works cause I plugged in the stock p2t ecu and the tach was working. Jumper harness is new so I know thats not the problem....I’m running a b16 dizzy, do I have change it and put a obd1 dizzy with the obd2b to obd1 harness or is there a way to modify my current one to fix the tach ?

A stock OBD2B 99 Civic is not wired to get the tach signal from the distributor. You must do it yourself.

Im getting a ton of different replies lol...some are saying to run the blue wire under the dash to the distributor but I see no blue wire under the dash...others are saying to add a wire from the blue wire on the distributor to the connector located on the driver’s shock tower

Make sure blue wire in distributor connector runs to the ICM inside the distributor.

Tachometer test connector has a blue rpm wire.

Connect them.

You stated the tach "stopped" working... does this mean it did in fact work at some point with the B16A2 swap installed or are you saying "my tach worked fine until I installed a B16A2 swap" ?

That clarification would have been very helpful in your OTHER thread about your tach issue. The normal fix is to connect the ICM wire in the ECU adapter harness to the "tach out" location on the in car OBD-2B engine/chassis/under-dash harness. Some also connect the blue tach output wire in the distributor directly to the tachometer OR the tach test wire on the driver's side of the engine bay near the firewall.

Just because it is "New" doesn't mean it works properly. Where did you source the ECU jumper harness from and how much did it cost ?

If you want a functional tachometer, get some proper wire and start doing some proper wire splicing.
