Default First time welding [question]

So I bought a MIG welder , and I’m going to be installing and welding a 2008 civic radiator support on. ive looked and can’t find any info on it so I have some questions I wanted to ask .such as which welding material should I use , which shielding gas I currently have 75 argon 25 co2 would this work? And what settings would be best for this job?

Mild steel, er70 wire in 0.023" diameter, gas is fine for the application. Look at your welder for a settings chart. Should be something for 20 gauge steel. Adjust up and down from there until you find something that works.

If you are filling in drilled out spot welds I would recommend a copper welding spoon to reduce burn through and help get those holes filled quickly.

If you can find some scrap of similar thickness, it would help to play around with it to tune the settings. Make sure you have a good ground, don't weld out in the wind if you can help it, even a fan too close can sometimes blow the gas away and your weld will look like swiss cheese.
