Default Cel 16 and cel 9 problems

94 civic ex auto to manual b20 gear trans got the car out of the junk yard restored it body wise and now I'm stuck on the injectors and distributer

Cel 16 and cel 9 won't go away my idle is horrible and I'm in limp mode I've swapped 3 distributors only to have it come back I think it's in the wiring I've swapped both fuse boxes and main relay injectors etc I've found continuity from ground to my main relay power on pin 6 and I'm lost on how it happened and one have wiring.issues like this my last resort is swapping the chassis harness out and I really don't wanna do that thanks to any who reply

Fix CEL code 9 first.

Use your multimeter to Ohm test the two CYL sensor wires from the ECU connector.

I did it checked out I got 400ohms between the two and 0 resistance from dizzy to ecu connector

Details? Are you saying that you measured continuity with body ground (a short)?

And the short test I suggested should be done from each pin in the unplugged ECU connector with the distributor plugged in.

I don't know how to reply without quoting you buuuut yes I went from tho two pins on ecu plug with distributer plugged in then I went from distributer plug "dizzy side" to ecu plug and measured resistance and got 0 ohms so no issues with ecu plug to distributer thanks for any suggestions man

It's still unclear to me whether you have tested for a short to ground, which would also throw CEL 9. It sounds like you tested for continuity of the wires between the distributor and ECU, but you already demonstrated wire continuity when you measured 400 Ohms from the ECU connector. Do you know how to test for a short to ground?

yes

yes I tested continuity thru the yellow black wired jumper that supplies the power to injector side and found continuity yo ground I solved it by taking the chassis harness out of a donor and it's gone car runs decent only code i have is 9 now there is a long story on this car it was hacked all over the harness and the both fuse boxes were melted and shorted so it was safe to say the chassis harness might have been jeopardized now I'm putting the interior back in and going to go back to checking the rest of the engine harness got a new p75 shipped and socketed on a stock tune and another distributer if this doesn't work I might just get rid of the distributer and coil on plug conversion with aem

Fixed both engine lights cel 9 cured by new to me used distributer and code 16 ended up being a bad chassis harness due to fuse box failure
