Over the weekend my car was side sweep by another driver I wasn't in the car when it happened thank God the police came took down my name and the car that hit me. Now I have full converge thinking the it would be repaire unfortunately it going to cost more to fix my car then it's worth. It's sucks since I only had my car for less then a year . Now I'm looking to buy another Honda Civic or Accord but much newer since this was my primary car. I thought I'll let everyone know what happened just because you have full converge doesn't mean it's worth fixing to the insurance company.
Full coverage NEVER meant they'd pay to repair a car regardless of the extent of damage. Insurance has always weighed the cost of repair to the value of the vehicle, with only exception being for classics or rare vehicles. And since the 01-05 Civic chassis is nearly valueless, its rather easy to hit the "totaled" requirement of 75% of the vehicle's value (in this case, roughly $3000). With the extent of damage there, I'd wager the body shop quotes you over $5000 in repairs (even using cheaper repair options, meaning non-factory replacement parts or used parts).
