93 accord cb7 oil pan gasket
Hello. I received a new oil pan gasket for my accord and one side is completely smooth and flat, the other side has sort of very slightly raised ridges on both edges running all around the gasket. Can someone tell me which way it goes on. Also I have some high temp red RTV sealant. Does this go on both sides of the gasket. Thanks
I don't think it makes any difference which way you put it on. Personally, I put gasket sealant on both side when I seal these up and to help get the gasket to stay put. make sure to follow the criss cross method putting in the bolts (start in the middle of the pan doing on on each side until you get all the bolts in so it distributes evenly).
Thanks for the drawing. I see what you mean that it can only go one way. Do you put the sealant on both sides including in the part that has a dip or curve at the end. I guess this would be the area that would leak. Thanks. Also I'm trying to get the internal oil seal for the distributor. I think the part number is 30130-pc6-003. I can't seem to get one in the whole country. So maybe someone could tell me where to get one and send it to Australia. I'll pay costs of course.
