Default My history as a Honda race car fabricator.

Hello. I have been involved in the HondTech community for several years but have always been a technician for a company and never really time to build a car for myself. I worked for Tony Palo at T1 Race Development in Texas for 6 years and then started another company closer to home with the manager of T1 at the time. We both lived in the same town and we had to drive an hour and a half everyday to get to T1 so we decided to start our own thing in our hometown. This company was called MAKK Performance. I was the shop manager, fabricator, and lead mechanic. We stayed true to building Hondas for 2 years and the owner got a better offer to move overseas to build higher end sportsman's and so I had to get a job doing something I didn't want to do. I still work on Hondas in my spare time because I had to take a job for an oil drilling company. I worked for Black Flag Motorsports for about a year and still help out up there when I can. Those guys are great. I also have to give a shout out to RP Tuning and the owner is a master tuner, Motec or Hondata, give them a call. My specialty is building NHRA Certified roll cages but I have done it all. I never had a chance to build my own car but finally bought a 2000 EM1. The body and cluster only had 36000 miles on it but the engine and trans are not numbers matching. I only paid 1200$ for the car and it runs fine. I had to replace many parts because it sat out in the hot Texas sun for at least 7 years but the interior is immaculate. It came with 2000 to 2002 parts that were popular at the time. AEM big brake kit, 18 ×7.5 Volk TE-37's etc. The head does have skunk 2 stage 2 camshafts, titanium valves, springs and retainers. It has AEM cam gears, AEM accessory pulleys, skunk 2 race intake with a Golden Eagle intake manifold gasket, JG Edelbrock headers, ApexI cutback exhaust, cold air intake, AEM fuel rail, AEM fuel pressure regulator and AEM fuel filter, three row aluminum racing radiator, upgraded in tank fuel pump, stock injectors, koni yellow adjustable struts with lowering springs(dont know the brand), but it rides amazing. I had to replace all of the brake pads, ball joints, added adjustable upper a arms on the front, added an adjustable camber kit on the rear, upgraded to a Tanaka half shaft with upgraded drive axles, replaced inner and outer tie rods, and i am sure there is more I am leaving out but I am blessed to have the knowledge and training from some of the best in the industry and I hope at least one person took the time to read my story. I have been involved in building the first SFWD car to break into 8 seconds, been involved in building the s2000 from hell, building the first T1 Nissan GTR so I have been very blessed. I love this sport and will continue to build my EM1 until it can live up to some of the amazing builds I've had during my time in the industry. Thank you.
