I Cant get a stock gsr running with Hondata NEED HELP!!!
I have a p06 ECU that i added the vtec and the s300 to. i did the installation myself . i have a b18c1 with a skunk2 intake manifold. no other mods. i just put the motor in, it's freshly rebuilt. the s300 seems to be working fine i can do datalogging with it. i have uploaded the preloaded p72 calibration and the engine just runs like crap. RPMs bouncing between 400-650 and it smells rich. when i switch out the ECU with a stock p28 the engine seems to run alot better i can actually drive the car and vtec works too. i followed the hondata troubleshooting guide and it seems like nothing is wrong with the s300 but i just dont get it. i have also sent pictures to HAmotorsports and they said everything with the ECU looks good. can someone please help me? i disabled closed loop and that didnt make a difference. on the data log ignition keeps randomly jumping between 1 degree and 5 degrees, is that normal? Also the only fault code is for knock sensor.

Double check your ECU component installation... and if all appears to be correct, upload a stock P28 calibration and see if the engine runs just like it does when you plug in the stock P28 ECU. If it doesn't run the same, it is likely that you have issues with your P06 ECU (socketing ?).
thanks for the replies. map sensor and injector size and all parameters seem to be good. the stock p72 basemap should be fine for a stock b18c1. i dont have a timing light so i wasnt able to sync but i dont think a few degrees is going to make the amount of change i am seeing in the engines performance at idle plus i tried to turn the distributor all the way in both directions and it didnt make much of a difference. i do have vtec enabled in smanager. i did exactly that with the p28 calibration and the stock p28 ecu and they run totally different which is why i had HAmotorsports look at my p06 with the vtec/hondata and they said everything looked good. maybe i should have my p28 sent in for the s300 to be installed???
