Default Pinstripe removal

I know this topic has been covered a million times, but my question is did integras have the pinstripes painted at all. I went outside to look at my 96 integra se and the pinstripes looked like they are painted on instead of being a sticker. Call me dumb but that is what I see?

It was put on by a car dealer, try a body shop & ask if they can remove the painted stripe with out damaging the clear coat. The only problem will be a slight mark on the paint where the paint stripe used to be if it is a older car.

On my 94', I used a hair dryer to heat the stripe's adhesive backing, then proceeded to peel the stripe off. It came off very easy for being on so long. The difficult part was getting the adhesive off the car, which took like 3hrs with goo gone, cleaner/wax, and a hairdryer. My ******* fingernail didnt grow for like 3 weeks after this ****, but it was worth it. Car looks so damn clean without that stripe.

From what I am reading then is that it should be able to be removed. I used a hairdryer and held it a couple of feet away to try and loosen the adhesive backing. How long did you guys hold the hairdryer in place before you could peel it off. So all tegs that have the pinstripe is a sticker and not painted?

They are all a sticker BUT some are under the clear coat and some are not. If they are under the clear coat your stuck.

if they are applied by the dealer, how can the pinstripe be under the clearcoat? the paint was applied at the factory before the dealer ever got the car.

some pinstripes are indeed painted on by hand at the dealer, though most are adhesive backed tape. try to determine which you have.

if painted, you are out of luck short of repainting. if adhesive, the tips given will work fine. I would add that wd-40 works well at taking the adhesive residue off w/o harming the paint.

good luck.
