Why is the timing belt cover bolt spinning??
Hi lads, I've started my water pump/timing belt replacement job...
I'm to the "remove the upper cover(timing belt)...
But the forward bolt(nearest front of car) is just spinning...
I see NO way for there to be a nut anywhere behind...
Is it simply stripped?
Any suggestions as to how I can get this guy OUT?
Thanks much!
Rich

I've done a google search, and I'm seeing a number of folk who have encountered this on other cars, and in these cases, there was a
nut recessed into the plastic, and that plastic has rounded off... causing a spinning bolt: in which case, there's no option
but to rip off the cover..
Is this what I'm facing?
