Icon7 02 Civic A/C Runs Intermittently -FIXED

It has taken me roughly 2 years of hunting and reading to FINALLY Fix my A/C issue on my 02 Civic. Basically, the AC would run cold on cooler mornings and on and off to not at all during the summer months. I have looked all over for answers and finally fixed it so I want to share the fix. Seems like some people just never get around to sharing their solutions and I have never seen this before. (see photo) O2 Honda Civic EX - When the AC would run it was nice and cold but keeping it running was the problem. Look at the included photo. There are 2 red wires going to the thermal cut off switch on top of the compressor. When the AC was not running I took a long stick and began touching those 2 wires. Suddenly the AC came on. I could move the wires up and down and the AC would power ON and OFF. There is a short in one of those two wires. Appears to be the wire on the left. I used a long pair of needle nose pliers and pushed the wire back together and it has been working perfectly for the entire day. Again, I have never seen this as an AC Solution for this vehicle and did not expect this to be the problem on my car. Hope this helps someone out to locate a 2 year nightmare trying to diagnose my AC problem.

Good luck with that wire. At least if it startus interruptus again then you know what to fix. 2 years is a long time.
