Hey all, first post and would like to say thanks for all the knowledge that everyone has passed on, its helped me out alot, thank you
Now on topic, I've recently replaced the engine in my 5th gen prelude h22a4 which runs great, so now I have a spare engine to play with. I started to pull apart the head and came across what I think might be an issue with the intake valves and seats. Is this salvageable
The valve looks to me to be extremely warm out which is not a big deal as it can be replaced but i don't know what to think about the seat. Is it toast or can it be re ground and put back into action?
What do you think would have caused the valves to wear down like this,? Would adjusting the valve lash to tight possibly cause excessive wear on the valve?
That is an intake valve so, bad air filtering. Everything that I have pulled apart that had valves that looked like that had K&N air filters on them. Too much grit getting by the filter and eroding the valve.
