Default D15b8 not reving past 5k

Car runs great but doesn’t rev past 5k sounds like some sort of fuel cut has new plugs/wires not sure why it’s doing this any help is appreciated

You may want to confirm the rpm with an external tachometer. I use a laser tach when I need to verify.

The tac is right it sounds nothing like rev limiter it’s different and the only code is for a 02 sensor that’s it

Ignoring the O2 sensor code means the engine is always running rich, which can lead to carbon build up in the cylinders, oil fouling and destruction of the cat.

Fix the O2 sensor code, and check the mechanical and ignition timings.

Only thing I can think of is timings off I’ve moved the distributor while it was running and the idle or anything doesn’t change at all

Check the mechanical timing. If it's fine, then hook up a timing gun to check the ignition timing.

Crankshaft pulley TDC1 mark aligned with pointer on lower timing belt cover...


D15B8 camshaft pulley TDC1 mark aligned with top flat surface of the head...
