I took my 95 del sol to a mechanic to have the timing belt replaced and the old motor mount just kinda disintegrated and the mechanics told me that there was a separate hole that held the front bolt of the motor mount and instead of fixing the problem they just didn’t put a bolt in the front of the engine mount and now want to charge me more to tap a new hole. Is there a different solution to remounting the engine mount instead of leaving it hanging down like the shop did? What kind of damages can i expect if i do leave it halfway mounted? Ive taken my car to a different mechanic and they said that with it being from up north the rust build up may make it difficult to repair.
