Hello guys! I have a '92 Prelude. A couple of weeks ago it set on fire around the battery while it was parked outside. We were able to extinguish the fire thanks to a neighbor that alerted us about the incident. Anyway, ludes here are rare so I'm trying to get parts from Accords. My engine is an F22A2. Accords are F22A1. Does anyone know if accord's engine wire harness fits on my lude? Does the distributor fit? If the accord's harness is for external coil, can I use a external coil distributor for my lude? Your help will be appreciated
Both are almost same engine and same year, I need only the engine wire harness that goes around all the engine sensors, injectors and alternator. If I start with accord's engine harness do you know what I have to rewire so it fits? Thanks
Ohhh. Are the connectors that go into the cabin the same? If that's the case I could use half the Accord's harness. My wire harness got damaged up to the part that goes under the intake manifold
So your F22A2 Prelude is a Prelude "S" or "Si" right? Those were the only cars in 92-96 that came with the F22A2. The 1992–1996 Prelude S & DX/LX Accords had a F22A1's. Is it that you have access or own an Accord with an F22A1 and want to use the engine harness on your F22A2 equipped, '92 Prelude S or Si?
I have done some researching and have not found the part # for the F22A1 engine harness. I have found that the part # for the F22A2 is (32110 Rl0 G010). I was trying to see if the part # was the same but no luck. I did also see that the F22A6 part # is different from the F22A2 harness.
People with experience or knowledge of these two engines/cars will likely know and it sounds like some have already said that they are different but you would think since the Accord and Prelude share similar motors that they might be interchangeable. Most F series motors share alot but it sounds like you would need to rewire some connectors. If your feeling up to it just get the F22A1 engine harness, either lay it out of the floor next to the F22A2 harness or begin installing it on the motor and just see what needs to be changed.
Most of the sensor connectors will be the same. If you have wiring diagrams of the prelude harness and accord harness essentially you can just repin the ECU connectors. I know alot of the sensors will operate the same but there are a few where the 5v ref, signal, and ground are switched around. If you map out both harnesses by writing down the original harness wire colors and purpose in order as they are on the connectors and then find corresponding location on the new harness you can depin and go! It will be very time consuming though so ultimately a harness for your vehicle would be best.
