Default B20VTEC w/ ITR Pistons: stay 84mm, or go with 84.5mm

I have a b20v with a gsr head and my head gasket was going and my number 2 piston ring was going I had a compression of 210 and number 2 had 180. So I took the motor apart and got acl main bearing and bearing std size and I got itr 84:5 piston with rings can I use my old rods and I got new arp rod bolts to . My ? Is do I need to take the crank to get shave or balance or anything eles I need to do the crank was good and all the old bearing was perfect I didn’t see any metal or bad marks or ruff spots was all smooth so it’s all this stuff plug and play or do I need anyrning eles . Yes the block going to Machine shop to get it bore to 84:5 cause I see a small mark on number 2 piston wall.machine Told me he mite could sand it down alittle and keep it at 84 but I was thinking should I let them do that or shoukd I just go to 84:5

It is simple. Measure a bore diameter and roundness, if it is out of tolerance (quess, most likely are), machine it to next over size.

40 and 30 refer to how thick the head gasket is... in thousandths of an inch. Standard thickness is .030". If your block or cylinder head has been milled to clean up the surface, then you need to add to the head gasket thickness to get the overall install height and quench area back to original.

Depends on how much he "shaved" off...

If the crank was fine when you took the engine apart, there is no reason to turn the journals or re-balance.

Yeah old bearing good and crank look smooth I had a bad piston ring was going bad but wasn’t that bad but no bearing was bad and he just told me he didn’t even shave a lot just shave to clean it up
