Default D16Y8 hose question

I am new here, I have searched this site and every post I found had crappy pictures and/or explanations I couldn't follow so here goes. Rebuilt a d16y8 for my niece, and I have three nipples that I don't know where they connect. One on the intake manifold, one behind the thermostat housing, and one on the back of the valve cover. Am I missing something, should I get hose and a T connector for all three, or could I just plug em? 2000 ex auto. Thanks.

Connect a hose from the thermostat device to the middle of the intake manifold. If the side fitting on the black device screwed into the thermostat housing isn't already connected to the intake pipe somewhere between the air filter box and the throttle body, then connect it to the third nipple that you asked about. Otherwise, plug it.

Thanks bud. After doing some research and looking, found that the barb on the side of the FIA doohickey was broken and they just wrapped electric tape around it. So could I just leave it? Seems like after I put a hose from the top to the barb behind the valve cover it's idling better, I just don't want to have a problem down the road. The person who had this car before screwed it up pretty good and after all the time and money I've put into it I want it to work.
