Question: ACL main and rod bearing clearance secrets

Default Question: ACL main and rod bearing clearance secrets

so ive been diggin and diggin cant seem to find an answer anywhere...i ordered the acl std main and rod bearings.as far as clearance goes i know ill get like an extra .001 or something like that but do i wanna have my clearance around factory specs for both?? any help would be awesome

This is a wildly debated topic.. Some shout looser for higher rev, some shout tighter.. I dove into this rabbit hole some time back and read until my eyes bled. After compiling all the useful information from various builders and engine lifespan, I came up with going just a HAIR over factory spec is plenty sufficient. So rods between .015 - .018 and mains from .018 to .020 would do ya well.
