i cant speak for which is better but reality is either one is probably gonna outlast the length of time your likely gonna own the vehicle. personally warranty means a lot to me so id go with that one but for the warranty to be valid probably needs to be installed by a licensed installer either way. just my input.
Car A/C guy told me that the blower motor on my 96 Civic EX needs to be replaced.
Out of these 2 on RA, which one would you get?
TYC 700001:
$30.79 + $7.99 SH = Total $38.78
Warranty Information: Limited Lifetime for non-commercial use.
FOUR SEASONS 75016:
$35.79 + $8.99 SH = Total $44.78
Warranty Information: 12 Months / 12,000 Miles.
TYC appears to be the better deal, but I'd appreciate your feedback.
I can answer your question, the TYC is what I have now in the civic, Been working fine since the original Honda.factory died a couple year ago (maybe 2015/2016). The TYC actually has wider/longer blades (by about an 1/8", yes I measured) and it puts out much more air than the original ever did! On my other car (scion) my TYC did develop a bearing noise, and they replaced it no charge, no problem! So yeah go with that one, I think it's very well made!
Thanks to all, for the feedback. Sounds like giving TYC a shot is well worth it.
@oneheadlight, a friend suggested their warranty might be void if part is not installed by a licensed pro. Any light you can shed on your install and experience with TYC replacing part for you?

no the warranty wasn't voided at all by me installing it. Im just a regular DIY'r. The warranty works with the retailer. If it fails, you buy another, then the retailer (rockauto in this case) refunded the entire order. Odd, but it worked quickly. And TYC didn't ask to return the blower fan. Was a painless warranty claim.
about the install, mine would be the same as yours.. Three hex head bolts, I used a socket to remove them. Used a small screwdriver to remove the electrical connector. The fan might be stuck on the lip of the hvac housing, just pry it a little and wiggle the main motor hump (You'll see it) and it comes out. reinstall the same way.. took me about 20 minutes.
Did you have to remove this panel; if so, what did you use to remove the clips holding it in?

thanks for the video.. if you want more room you can remove the passenger side kick panel. my carpet is really flat and I removed the fan without moving that kick panel. But it's not a big deal if you remove it. Just depends on how your carpet/padding is in that area. I wonder though.. mine's a 96, they did make slight changes along the way.
EDIT.. the passenger side kick panel, it's just a plastic screw up top (can almost take it off with your hands) and there is one clip (can wiggle it out with needle nose pliers), the rest is just snapped in on the edges.. to answer your other question.. oh and you're welcome!
sounds like you have had some bad luck.. only problem I had with the blower motor was a noisy bearing between all the cars I've installed tyc that's the only issue i've ever had. I think it's a lot better than what was stock.
I had to change one of these a few years ago . I have never had a oem fail here. It’s a dry climate . When it failed or squealed it had been pouring for a week or so . The day after the bathroom fan bearing in my house did the same thing . They are very similar.
