Vibration - 06 Accord Coupe V-6 6spd
I have a vibration, like a "death wobble" on a Jeep. I have recently (May '20) had the front brakes and rotors replaced, all four tires balanced and rotated. I have pulled the e-brake when stopping just to see if it seemed to come from the rear and it was smooth. The vibration seems to come when slowing to stop still with all new brakes and the balance. It will then continue vibrating as I pull out with a low roar, but will dissipate over a period of time as I drive and end up smoothing out and have no vibration. The tires were new last summer (General) as were an idler arm, cv boots, front struts, 4-wheel alignment and a rear caliber with rear brakes pads all in August '19. All repairs made at my local Honda dealership with Honda parts. Help! I drive it as a work car about 120 miles a day round trip. Has @ 173,000 miles on it. I am lost as to where to look next for the culprit.
Sounds like the pads may be dragging. Did you replace the calipers? Whenever I had to replace the pads it's always super tight that I end up replacing the rotors. Might be a brake dragging. Jack it up and spin to see... Good luck.
They do feel tighter, but it was doing the vibration prior to replacement. Kinda thought it would cure it with the brakes replacement, but I just complained about the vibration and they determined brake and rotor replacement. The tire rotation/balance was due anyway.
Maybe make sure everything is tight, but I've found if you do pads and don't change the calipers they will drag and it's hard to get the piston back in far enough where they don't rub / drag on the rotor. Maybe see if your rotors are super hot or if there is a drag on the front wheels when jacked up.
