So when I start engine,
(the start switch is disengaged so clutch doesn’t have to be in to start)

I hear a grinding sound, so when clutch is engaged the sound goes away but when released the clutch sounds grinding again.

I was told Input Bearing inside transmission,
I was also told throwing bearing and a a new clutch and maybe flywheel, and
also said easiest thing is to R&R.

it had 140528 as of this morning.

I can send the video of the sound it makes.
