2001 accord Interior lights not working
Hi everyone, just noticed recently that none of the map lights work on my car... At the same time the washer fluid light stays on permanently. Don't know if this is coincidental or related but I'm not sure where to start looking. I checked the fuses but seems like for this year there isn't one specifically just for the map lights
Sounds like a short (of course, I am just guessing). Do the map lights work manually (meaning not when you open the door, but do when you push the button)?
Also check fuses, not just the ones under the drivers dash, but the ones out under the engine hood.
Of course, make sure the bulbs are good in the dome.
I had a similar problem once, was in a time crunch, so I went to the junkyard and replaced the whole dome light piece with another one. I'm guessing it was a short in the dome somewhere.
The reservoir light is something else (I believe) and is usually the sensor on the pump.
Here's directions on where it is and how to replace.
I don't think the two are related, but I've noticed over the years that sometimes a burnt out lightbulb or sensor causes an inbalance in the voltage causing weird errors, so I could be wrong on this.
Good luck, report back how you solved it.

none of the lights turn on manually, neither the front map lights or the ones in the middle. I did check the fuses in the engine bay, but based on the diagram, none seem to be related to interior lights.
Time to break out the multimeter and see where the voltage stops. Just to be sure it's not the Dome panel itself, pull it out and check the voltage at the wiring going into that panel.
Then I would check every single fuse in the panels to see if there is voltage or not and replace anything that looks off.
See if any other lights don't work (rear tail lights, trunk light, etc) to see if there is anything else not working.

If there is a short, + coming into contact with - (the negative wire or any common metal point in the car) in any socket or elsewhere in a circuit, the associated fuse would blow.
If there's an open the fuse shouldn't be blown since there's no load.

Check passenger side under-dash Fuse No. 11 (7.5A). If fuse is good, measure voltage on the Wht/Blu wire at the spotlights (Honda referred to those lights as spotlight for the 6th generation Accords).. Wht/Blue wire is a white colored wire with a blue stripe.
If there is battery voltage at the Wht/Blu wire, then test for continuity to ground on the black wire at the spotlights.

As for the washer fluid light, seems like that was just pure coincidence. It's probably the sensor, just have to pick one up from the scrap yard and should be good
Thanks to everyone for the help
Cheers
Glad you got it fixed. Not a dummy! Happens all the time. Today my neighbor asked me to look at his garage door opener - the light wasn't coming on. I said I'll bring a meter over in a bit. maybe the socket is bad. He tried 2 bulbs. He came back over a bit later. Both bulbs were bad. A new one out of the package worked.
I never had to work on anything electrical on my 1999 Accord - if I did I would have also looked for the fuse box on the driver's side.

So the washer sensor was pure coincidence with the fuse blowing at the same time. Got around to replacing the sensor and the washer light works properly
