Default H22A rear crankshaft seal clearance 0.02" - 0.03"

anybody any experience fitting one of these?

it was one of those moments... pretty much perfect... just a touch more... and dammit too far !! now it's all the way in against the retaining lip

i can't be the first person to do this, and from what i've read and seen most people don't even know there is supposed to be a clearance and therefore fit it all the way in like it looks like it should. plus it would be impossible for anybody to fit it with a 0.02" - 0.03" clearance at the back if they were fitting it (like a lot of people do) with the housing still on the engine

i have not read of masses of peoples seals leaking because they were fitted all the way in. though i have read it will leak if it's not fitted according to the book, but at the same time somebody said that it will leak if you fit it in the same place because of the scoring on the crankshaft, so you have to push it all the way in to get away from that

so my question is, if it's pushed all the way in is it going to be ok or should i order a new seal and start over?

any help very much appreciated, cheers
