Default My first turbo manifold

didnt like the fittment and look of my cast manifold so I figured I’d try making my first turbo manifold. Bought the head and turbo flange and all piping from klm race and the collector is a vibrant 3” merge.

not too shabby. I would double check the oil return line though.

Nice! Where were the difficult to reach parts? Did you use a gas lens, giant cup, and lave lots of tungsten sticking out?

It was just the standard cup that came with our millermatic 3/32 tungsten nothing special. The hardest spot was the collector center and where there are the closest. Probably had the tungsten out about 1.5-2” for that and turned the gas flow up to compensate for not having a good cup with forward gas flow. I used 308l filler for the pipes and collector and 309l when welding the flanges.

Not bad for your first! Did you backpurge everything while welding? How did the inside turn out?

Yes backpurged. And used a junk head to keep flange from warping. Inside looked pretty good

Great job! I just got a tig not too long ago, and am teaching myself to weld good enough to make my own manifold also.
