To make this short, I'm working on a customer's car, I checked for oil pressure (normal) did new oil change(minus filter&#128556 I cleaned vtec solenoid and I probed it to make sure it was actually working. I swapped my vtec solenoid(from my 04 accord) and same problem(did the swap before the oil change) electrical gremlin?

When clearing code, vtec will engage then lock me out. Completely stock outside of short shifter and exhaust.

 

Did you check the VTEC oil screen on the front corner of the head ?

 

Oh! You mean screen behind the power steering pump. No I have not. I actually have pictures of how the vtec solenoid screen looked.


I can assume that screen will also look like that way too. What about the vtc solenoid? That might be blocked up too.

 

I would look at both and clean them as necessary.
