I'm new to honda stuff and had a question about doing this swap. (tried looking it up but didn't find my question answered)
I picked up an 89 si with a b16a w/ cable trans swapped and I'm looking to swap it into my 91 auto se with the stock d series.
I got some hasport mounts to replace the ones that came with the car because they seemed sketch.
What i was wondering is if the passenger side trans mount bracket was the same on manual and automatic cars ?
I don't know if the 89 with the swap was manual or auto stock, (it has a manual cluster but who knows ?) but whoever swapped the motor cut and moved the bracket more inboard.
Is this because it was an auto car originally ? or were the wrong mounts used ?
Are the auto and manual rear cross members different ? I saw the 2 different mounting locations for the rear mount on the 89 with the swap.
I just wanted to be sure that it would be the same on the auto car that I'm swapping it to before I scrap the other car.
the passenger side trans mount bracket is the same on manual and automatic cars
the rear cross member is the same on manual and automatic cars
there are 2 different sets of holes for the rear mount to go into if it is and auto or manual car
an 89 si will always be manual as the si models were never offered in auto. the reason that bracket was moved and welded again was probably due to the sketch mounts that you referred to
