Default Honda d16z6 bad idle

Hey guys. So im new to posting on here but the time has come. I’m in need of a bit of help.
I originally had the d16y7 the head basket went so I decided to swap for the d16z6 the actual swap went okay wasn’t too many problems lol.
ever since tho I can’t seem to get it to idle as it should it use to want to die when just sat there on idle was such a pain to drive. I then squeezed the fuel return line and instantly idled better and I was able to drive it normally. I thought I’d fit a universal fuel pressure regulator. Set it at the about 37/40 psi and yes it doesn’t die on idle but still the idle is rough and it does bog for a second when I put my foot down.

id appreciate any help just to point me in the direction to look at first.

many thanks guys

Sometimes an idle issue can just be the fact that the engine is dirty. My '94 Integra GS-R with a B16A2 swap wouldn't start or idle on its own so I cleaned out all my intercooler piping along with the intercooler itself, the idle air control valve, air filter, and throttle body..now she's back to purring like a kitten. This isn't a guaranteed fix to your problem, but there's a good chance it can help.

Hi thanks for getting back to me. I could understand that the is dirty has been sat for a while but. I’ve done everything you have mentioned. Like I mentioned in the first post if I squeeze the fuel return line then it will idle properly Or better should I say. so has be something To do with fuel lines or something along them lines surly.

many thanks Aaron
