Default F22a6 ECU Power Gains

Hi I have a 90 ex mostly stock, just have an intake and full exhaust. I was wondering if swapping another ECU would make more power. I know the h22 engines were more aggressive so if I went with an ECU from the h22 would I need to add new cams to my car, and then upgrade the whole fuel system, or would just adding a new ECU make a difference? Just trying to make it a little faster and more fun to drive without doing a total rebuild lol

A new ECU will net you 0 as its not for the engine in question. Change ECU only if you're getting a tunable one (IE you have made real mods) or swapping engines in their entirety. There is a triangle to remember Speed, Money, Reliability, you can only have 2.

Yeah that makes sense, what would be some suitable mods that I could look into at this point?

One of the questions I think you have to ask yourself as well is how much power are you looking to increase the car, and how much effort do you want to put into the car?

There are tons of make nothing changes like adding an exhaust, which sounds cool if done right, not too hard to do, and might satisfy the craving for a modification, but in reality give you nothing in measurable by the seat of your pants power. But to do anything significant, I would think either an engine swap or a turbo would the two main options. Each takes a significant amount of work, and can take a significant amount of money. But if you are looking inexpensive changes that yield anything in the form of real power, it's not going to happen. Are you up for investing a few thousand for something?

I thought about a few things like that, either a turbo kit or a swap for an h22 or something like that. The car has 317k miles and it's been well maintained but I bet a turbo last too long 😂 I was thinking maybe a more aggressive cam setup would give me what I'm looking for. I know it will take a lot to make it faster, it would be nice to have some more torque though. Mainly looking for stuff to do for fun and not take it too seriously
