Flywheel + OE starter problems?
Is the Spoon flywheel the only one with the USDM starter conflict?
How about Exedy and Toda flywheels?

grinding problems are not all due to just the FW but also with the installation of the unit.
i have a spoon FW with USDM starter it rarely has a hicup, ive also heard of JUN flywheel's having this problem,i was told hat wit a drimmel tool you could modify your starter wheel slightly an you wont have any problems is that true ??
what? i'd love to know how to install a starter so it's offset closer to the crankcase. shrug.
Either way, there's no room for adjustment when installing a starter or flywheel.
I believe the teeth on the Jun flywheel are completely different than what the starter accepts, therefore tearing it up. I dont remember the starter you need...JDM B16 maybe??? The memory box hasnt been functioning too well recently...
Wasnt this problem taken care of by Jun a while ago though?

shi - whose happy w/ his jun fw
Comptech addressed the starter issue directly, saying they are aware of why it happens and have built the teeth on their flywheels specifically to not do that.
I run the Exedy FW and Orgainic Clutch
For the package price, it can't be beat.
Had it for couple months now, very happy with it so far, I can def notice a diffence, she revs faster, and driveablitiy has only suffered very little.
The quality on both the FW and Clutch were very good.

I have the Jun flywheel with the starter regrind. Once in awhile is has the hicups
.But then again, this Jun flywheel has over 75,000 miles on it.
Jap parts is the shizzit
Run the 99-00 Civic Si (Mitsuba) starter and it should solve the problem. 99-00 Civic Si were the only ones that received a jspec starter.....(I think).
I've had a JUN flywheel since 10/99 with no problems with the starter, ever.
I've even replaced the starter (unrelated) with a new one. Made no difference.
