Default Have to let off gas to up shift(automatic)

Okay, so i have a 95 sol si with the d16z6 with an auto trans(for now) and it starts and runs fine, no cel and yet when i accelerate the rpm climbs to easy 4, 4.5k before it shifts roughly into second and from there it wont shift unless i let off the gas around 3k. Trans fluid is ruby red, replaced the shift solenoid(used but i know its functioning), cant find any vac leaks anywhere. Any ideas? Thing only has 140k miles on it and ive kept up on it.

You might want to check the cable running from the throttle body butterfly spring dial to the transmission. And also check the spring quarter dial on the transmission that cable connects to.

They are supposed to be synchronized but still have enough play to return to home position. This cable/lever tells the transmission where the throttle is. If it's too tight, it thinks you are always giving gas and more gas than you are.
