Question about shifting
I just wanted to know if shifting a little earlier has any effect to the engine?...and what are the pro/cons of shifting earlier/later. And also if it does save gas?

Re: Question about shifting (Civic_07)
yes shifting early saves gas... the later you shift the more gas you waste because they are higher rpm's and your making the engine work more

Re: Question about shifting (Midori Green)
BUT if u shift so low that ur boggin its bad for gas to because you have to press the accelorator further. IMO gas mileage depends more on throttle position....if you use 1/4 throttle all the way to redline you will get bettter mileage that if u were to shift way low and have the pedal to the floor. corrct me if im wrong?
