Testing Valves 2000 Civic D16Y7
This is kind of a question but mostly just seeking clarification on what I am doing is correct
Had misfire code Cylnd 1, Currently have head removed and testing valves for leaks with head on bench upside down with water in cavity and compressed air into intake and exahust ports
Here is a video showing leak in Intake valve Cylnd 1, not sure if the link will work
https://drive.google.com/file/d/17NV...ew?usp=sharing
My question is I put the engine on TDC Cylnd 1 before disassembly. Now the head is off, and to test the other valves I will need to turn the Cam to close the valves. I assume as long as I return the cam gear to it's original position when I am done, things will be lined up again when I eventually put the head back on. From what I understand the bottom of the engine makes two turns for one turn of the cam.
Any comments or assistance is appreciated

i always remove the rocker assembly and cam from the head when checking for leaks. that way four ports can be checked at once. do the intake side, drain, dry repeat on the exhaust side. really don't need to use compressed air to see the leak.
yes, in a four stroke engine the crank rotates twice for each cam rotation.
since I always pull the cam and rocker assembly, I reinstall the head, set TDC on the crankshaft then install the cam and rocker assembly with "UP" up and the two notches aligned with the valve cover sealing surface. then install the timing belt, rotate 1 full cam rotation (2 crank rotations, ccw) and recheck timing marks
