Instrument lights flicker with new alternator
I installed a new alternator and when I hit a bump sometimes the instrument lights will flash. I'm getting 14v from the alternator and all of the bolts/nuts are tight. Any ideas???
I would first guess a ground, but I think if you can get an assistant, I would start the car, have someone watch the lights, and start tapping around to see if you can duplicate the flash. Tap the alternator, battery, try to wiggle ground wires, tap the distributor, tap the fusebox. I understand the bolts are tights, but maybe it's just not quite tight enough. But that's where I would start.
