Quaife K20 8J sequential
Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time sign up/poster. I've searched these forums looking for information on the Quaife 8J K20 tranny, but there's 1) only old posts circa 2013-2014 about people generally speaking of them and 2) no-one that seems to have followed up that's run one long term.
My question is - has anyone here actually run this sequential transmission on a semi high HP car? I'm talking minimum 400hp, ideally around 500hp. And further to that, run it in a track car where it's getting a workout? There doesn't seem to be any indication of power rating for it.
I've heard some horror stories about this tranny, but to be honest I'm yet to talk to anyone personally about it though.
Has anyone run this with success and it hasn't had the prescribed issues I seem to hear about? Looking at purchasing one for track dedicated car but I want to be fully informed.
Thanks

Hi My Engine Builder has vast experience with most things Quaife. He told me they run a Barrel with spikes, looks a bit like a Porcupine and this Barrel often develops hair line cracks resulting in 'false neutrals'. The fix is 5k plus just for parts plus a bit more for a few other things that need to be replaced as well. Quaife take about 5 -7 weeks to get the bits to you.
I'm not going that way.
I'm getting a Holinger ASF https://holinger.com.au/showroom/sf when this Covid thing is over with Air Shifters from France with an Emtron Electronics package. No more missed Gear shifts and faster lap times with totally custom Gear Ratio's. Tilton Clutch etc etc. $56k Au
