hey, my names ryan and im a honda addict....lol no for real tho, i recently got a 92 civic dx hatch with a b20b wedged between the front tires. it does kinda weird stuff.its my first 2cam engine in the honda family so im kinda green. okay please bear with me I'm going to try to explain my thing here in the best words I can. okay so I went and test drive is little car the other day, so it started up just fine and idle fine. and I get out where I can give it a little bit of gas and about 3200 RPMs or so it started acting like it was on the rev limiter or had active 2 step launch control. the speedometer acts completely erratically however the tachometer seems to work fine. so I get it down the road onto some gravel and mash on it a little bit in first gear and it climbs all the way to 6000 RPM like a champ like a beast and starts running fine however it's throws a cel at me. and the spedo still get does what it wants, but the car runs perfectly aside from just a little bit of a high idle. until I shut it off then it did the same thing when I restarted it and this went on for the first day or two that I had it. so yesterday I took it to Salem to get a chip because I figured maybe it had the wrong tune on it. it's running a p28 ecu I opened it up and it is in fact socketed and has a chip in there so I took it down to t Rev which is an awesome guy by the way down in Salem look em up. on the way down there my speedometer started working perfectly according to my GPS in the car was running well but just with the high idle thing again. so I get down there and I have t Rev burn me a chip. we put it in I hit the key, and it gives me a check engine light for 10 seconds and then turns off the light does I mean. which I know signifies in all clear. so I take off from there and this thing runs like a dream I wouldn't I mean I wouldn't change a thing I live about 45 minute drive from there about halfway home it started acting like it was on the rev limiter again right around 3200 RPM but it did not throw a check engine light this time and I could only roll on the throttle super super light like maybe 1 16th or 1\8 throttle at most without it acting like it was on the rev limiter or had active 2step. anybody out there have any ideas as to what it may be?
