What cams would you recommend? It's between Blox Type B, Blox HSL,or Blox P2?
Hi I have a b18c1 with about a b16 pistons, head milled equals about a 11.89:1 compression, skunk2 pro series intake, 310cc injecters. Plm toda header 2 1/2in straight exhaust. It's a choose between blox type b, blox Hsl , or blox p2s. Thanks

Again. I'm sorry, I just haven't trusted those products even back in the early 2000s. I wish I could be more supportive of these options, but I just can't. I know Skunk2 can be the devil at times, but at least I know what the devil is thinking and not take that chance with blox products.
I hope you can get some unbiased opinions, but I've had just too much bad luck with them on others cars over the years as compared to other companies. I know you mean well, and keep the faith..

Hi Guys,
I'm also looking for some feedback...
Just recently joined the forum and been searching and searching about the right cams for my build goals, but most of the post I found were really back in the dates, I would like to know if nowadays what would be the recommended camshafts road race with the following configurations:
B16a2 with CTR Pistons, 66mmTB, Blox IM, 310cc, PLM Toda Header, Straight Pipe Exhaust, ACT 8.8 lbs FW, MFactory 3rd to 5th Close Gear Ratio / 4.4 FD - Car for track time only, no streets.
I been reading and from the post I was able to find, from back in the days that Pro 1 will do a good mid-range power on b16's, then few post of years after stated Pro 1 will be too large for B16, Others recommended S2 Tuner 2, and others Brian Crower Stage 2 but most of them from what I can tell was for setups for street cars, or drag purpose.
Anyone that can share some experience on cams for B16A2 with some similarities to the setup above?
I'm hoping the close gear ratio will keep me in the high rpm range and help pulling out of the turns, but since there are 4 turns with pretty good hills I would like to help the engine with some torq.
I'm looking into the valve train, which from what I understand Skunk2 have proved to be the go to in that area.
Thanks in advance

I recently tuned a ls vtec with hsl’s in it and was pleasantly surprised with them. They seemed to have great power all around on the 1.8l. Not sure how well they would fair for a b16. I tuned a b16a with good bolt ons on tuner 1’s in a crx and it moved out great too. Sorry my post doesn’t have much tech to it just giving you a little feedback. I would go tuner 1 before tuner 2’s on a b16 but it really comes down to the rpms you want it to turn and where you’d like it to make power
But Crower Stage 1/ CTR+ profile works fine. Otherwise I recommend good forged pistons, they usually have deeper and wider valvepockets for more agressive cams.
Thanks for the reply guys, appreciate your comments.
I kept searching base on the comments and I think I will be leaning towards Skunk2 Tuner 1 or Blox Type A; it seems like the B16 with my configuration will benefit of the lower duration and higher lift compare to the other Skunk2 Pro 1 or Blox Tuner 1 duration.
I could be wrong on this, I take it as Skunk2 Tuner 1 is very close to the Spoon Cams specs, and Blox Type A is close to the CTR Cams... on my defense I been out of the game for years just in case I'm way off lol
Any idea if the 66mm TB can work with the setup, seems like the 62mm could have worked better..any input on that, would the 66mm make it loose velocity?
Thanks

Long (cam) duration is ok, but overlap period must suit to short stroke engine. That usually moves powerband upper wich is good because ~400cc cylinder has its limits. When VE is high already, increasing the work frequency (=revolutions) is only way.
It is not about just velocity, but 62mm is more than enought.

Thanks again!
you got me reading now on all this of overlap and center lines and understanding how it works. lol
Me personally I don't think I'l trust a used CTR cams nowadays, I will probably take the shot for the Skunk2 Tuner 1 and hope gives a nice little balance bum on mid rage and top end.

Blox C = Jun 3's
Blox B = Skunk stage 2
Blox HSL = Skunk 2 stage 3 cams
you should be good with a Blox B or C... even with the A,,,
Hi put the original post I have a full gsr motor with pr3 pistons blox valve train with blox lmk and the head is resurface .010. So would there be enough valve clearance to run stg 2or 3 cans. Or is the safer bet just to use stg1. I no I should clay my motor but does any one run the same set up that could chime in. I was thinking of useing the blox a"s since it's a Dd but would stag 2s be better
