Icon5 Doors unlock when walking near passenger side

I have a 2014 Civic with a weird problem. It has keyless entry and push button start and lately if you have one of the fobs in your pocket and walk within 5ft or so of the passenger side of the car, the car unlocks. It doesn't do it on the drivers side. It isn't waiting for me to touch the door handle for it to unlock.

Any idea what might be going on? I tried searching around but couldn't find anything.

Did you get this resolved...I'm having the same issue, except it's with my driver door.

Have seen a few of these come in for a dead battery, when the car is locked it randomly opens up by itself when walking by with the fob. Replace the handle that is unlocking.

Same issue here with 2014 Civic, except both doors. Walk close to the doors and they unlock which sort of sucks if you lock the door and then walk around the car, it unlocks itself.

Ideas?

You need to replace both outer handles, if both doors are unlocking when you walk around the car without pressing the fob

Wow. That's got to be crazy expensive. Sounds more like a design defect than faulty handles.

Replaced about 4 sets all under warranty. They are really expensive.

Me too. Didn't see them in online Honda parts site. Only had the ones without smart entry. I think it was AutoZone that had chrome ones with smart entry and they were $400!
