Default E brake cable removal

E brake cable is threaded through the control arm and there is a metal bracket that prevents the cable from being taken out. Anyone know how to remove the cable. I'm refurbishing the suspension.

Disc or drum brakes?

1. Remove the small hairpin clip from the pin, then remove the pin from the end of the cable and the parking brake actuating bracket.
2. Remove the retaining clip from the cable and pull the cable through the hole.

Disc. My main issue is how to get the retaining bracket off because that's what is keeping it from going through the hole.

There is the spring clip right at the bracket in your photo. I believe if you slide that off, you can then detach the bracket.

Also, what year, make, model and trim car?

Grab the spring clip with some channel locks and start wiggling it...

Fiddn to get funky. Get you some penetrating oil and 2 pairs of channel locks. Spray it, let it set, spray it again, let it set, and get twisty with it...

Is no. 1 a screw pin with a flat head screwdriver or pass through?

It's a pin held in place by a hairpin clip.
