Ignition switch question
I have to sometimes hold my key in the ignition position for 5 seconds for my car to crank to start.
I turn the key, lights come on, but nothing for a couple seconds, then it decides to crank and start without issue.
What needs to be fixed here? Don't think it's the immobilizer cause it would at least crank and not start I think?
Is it the lock cylinder itself? Which means to the dealer for new set of keys and programming?

Immobilizer controls the fuel pump, not the starter. So if the problem is on those, your car will still crank for the first 5 seconds just can't start. You can also rule out the immobilizer by leaving the key at II position for few seconds, let the fuel pump prime before starting.
Ignition switch is inexpensive and can be DIY replaced.

I've been letting the key sit at II position and it hasn't hesitated yet.
