2001 Accord v6 Need Help!!!!
I have a 2001 honda accord lx 3.0 V6
I bought it cheaply, so naturally it's got some problems.
I'm no professional far from, but I have enough knowledge and tools to get the work done, however I dont have the knowledge to diagnose why my car is running how it is running, so let me run you through. When I got it, I started it up and it runs, but you can clearly hear that the cats shot, and the car (at idle with nothing moving throttle) slowly revs itself up past 2000-2400. Idk or want to know if it will rev higher. When I stepped on the gas the rpms would increase, but they did not decrease when i let off, i then decided to take a look at the TPS and after seeing that it had a wonky reading on my scanner, I removed the throttle body, cleaned up a bit replaced the TPS and the gasket, and put back the throttle body, with brand new mahle gaskets. Now when it starts up it still slowly idles up, but when I release the pedal it goes back down but spikes up a little intermittently as it goes down. Side note: when I had the throttle body off I noticed that in the intake manifold there was a pool of oil just behind the throttle body, on that little area there, and plenty up on the runners. I have done nothing else but body work. I'm stumped, someone please help.
