hi I’m new here so here’s my introduction ., my names nick , I’m a brain damaged hobo / archaeologist / student / professional flintknapper .
i live in my 92 prelude s , with Tasha my wolf/husky/malamute mix , here in Colorado and try do do a lot of traveling but I’m grounded here for the semester , taking a field methods in archaeology class at cmu .
my car is an automatic 92 prelude s with an F22a1 engine . I bought the car for $200 , it had been painted with brown house paint and a roller ! splatter all over the windows and lights . it had been in an accident and the front end was all broken , bumper and lights and such . the windshield was broken because they tried to pry it out before the house paint job . It’s still broken lol and the trim it gone . . only 134k miles and a fresh new timing belt , and new battery though .
first thing I did was sand the hell out of it , then took a pic , forgot to take one when I first got it lol . then I rattle canned it “satin lagoon” real fast with rustoleum cans . it’s my first painjob on a car but turned out good enough for me . I found some Subaru fog lights in a dumpster with h11 bulbs , made brackets out of a license plate from the same dumpster , and got some h11 led bulbs off wish app for $7 . I got the light bar in exchange for helping a friend do some roof repair on his moms house . I cut the hood all up , deleted the hinges , made some hood pins at Lowe’s for $4 , deleted everything that used to hide under the front bumper to clean it up . I deleted the power steering and looped the lines , deleted the whole a/c system and got a belt for an accord without a/c , deleted egr and abv and made block off plates out of the egr and abv, just cut them off with a grinder and stuck a thin piece of sheet metal and some gasket material under them and put them back on . pretty much deleted everything I knew I could delete , and I’m no mechanic , should have said that by now , but I’ll be dammed if it doesn’t run a hell of a lot better !
my general theme with the car is to maximize efficiency , reliability , keep cost minimal , replace dated hard to find prelude parts with basic hardware store parts where possible , ect . keep in mind I’m barley scraping by right now lol
future plans , I want a roll cage and basic tube front end and bumper of some sort . cut out the metal in the interior wherever possible and build a bed into the trunk . Taller tires and maybe some slight lift if that’s possible . Keep the F22A but I want to totally delete the ecu and fuel injection , get it running on bike carbs , edis , and a stand-alone ignition controller , manual swap , clean it up eventually get it lookin cool and comfortable inside . #racehouse
