Squeeeaaakking and creeeaaakking
2005 Accord 4 cyl 2.4 with 230k miles. I’ve had this squeaking and creaking that happens when going slow over bumps, during slow turns, and especially when hitting the brakes when going slow. I just replaced all four shocks (the whole assembly) with KYB Strut Plus units since they were obviously bad. The ride feels better but the squeaking and creaking did not really improve. All rubber boots on all of the sway links and ball joints/etc. are good - not ruptured or cracked. I don’t hear any popping that I feel like I would normally hear from bad CV or ball joints and the 12-6 and 3-9 O’clock tests for outer tie rods and ball joints are solid - no play. What is bad that is still making all this noise? It’s bugging me. The noise is not the brakes... it is definitely in the suspension as far as I can tell. Thanks!
Worn end links are your problem. Keep the bolt shaft from spinning by locking with needle-nose vise grips. I think the nuts are either 14 or 15mm. Use blue locker when re-assembling. Make sure the new ones have grease fittings.
my 2007 2 door accord did the same thing and it was a lower control arm that had bad bushings, placed it and all is good. to check it i lifted the front on jack stands and checked for play and it was the right side that was bad.
