I just pulled the head off of my D15B7 to replace the head gasket, and I'm about to have it sent off to get machined. While cleaning the oil out of it, I noticed that two of the valves on cylinder #2 appeared to be open. The camshaft is at TDC and all of the other valves are closed. What could cause this?

 

#1 maybe TDC, which in turn means other cylinders are not.

A head will always have a set of valves upon somewhere on the head.

 

Bingo, the cam is still in.

 

Take the camshaft out... all should be closed then.

Well hopefully he doesn't take it serious, lets hope its just his cam keeping it open.
