Default D16z6 throwing code 4 can't figure it out?!?

I bought a 97 civic from a friend with a d16z6 swap
wont rev past 3500 rpm. Its throwing a code 4 for a cps sensor. I was told was in the dizzy so I replaced a dizzy (that I had to dremel out the top hole to fit)
& still nothing. It bas the obd2-obd1 speed factory becu jumper harness and the dizzy wired were spliced. After changing the dizzy nothing changed. Is it possible the cps is underneath the timing cover? I'm just lost at this point please let me know if you have had a similar issue ..

Code 4 (CKP sensor circuit) can also be caused by bad or miss-pinned CKP wires or a bad ECU.

How would I check if there was a bad connection. I bought another p28 unmolested ecu and still same issue

You check continuity with a resistance meter (digital multimeter) at the ECU connector and the distributor connector for all wires in question. This will tell you if there is any problems with the wiring between the two.

If you don't find anything there, you would continue with doing the tests of the CYP in the FSM. If found bad, replacement distributor is what Honda instructs.

Also check the connectors themselves, be sure all pins and spades are corrosion free and make solid contact with each other.
