Looking for those who have experience to chime in, another "is this real?" thread.
I'm looking at purchasing this intake. With Photobucket destroying the forums, its hard to find comparisons to fake Mugen intakes VS real.
Anyone have any input if this is a real intake box? Any questions or measurements the seller can take to show me if its real or not? Looks real to me but I have never had one of these in person.
Side note, it does not come with the filter, velocity stack or the trumpet. The trumpet I'm not worried about, but has anyone replaced the filter/stack with a BPi/K&N one, or something similar?
Hmm based on google images the lid on the teigawa EK9 and DC2 mugen style intakes have the carbon weave on it, but it looks like yours doesn't. I know my mugen dc2 intake has more of a glossy black finish on upper portion https://www.ek9.org/index.php?thread...ne-hose.72655/
Not sure if there are another replicas out there, I got my dc2 intake from Yahoo japan auctions and it looks real to me and it was a huge pain in the *** to install.

I'm not aware of any other replicas either.
The more I look at this, the more I'm wondering if its a Tegiwa lower with a legit Mugen top lid. The finish just seems to smooth on the pictures shown.
Was there a version of this produced that had a smooth finish bottom portion?

The seller just told me the box has been refinished, and sent me pics of the before and after at the shop that did it. Polished the top, and did a clear coat. fix some damage on the bottom, painted and cleared it too, which explains the finish.
It seems like a real box to me, Im a little bummed about the clear and paint though.
