Default D15B7 Del Sol automatic

Hey guys, so i need a new engine plain and simple, however im having hard time finding exact engine. First question is whether or not i can use a D15b engine or not since its carbureted.
second question is could i replace that carburetor and put the stock intake i have on it?
thanks and i may have other questions along the way.
im open to any feedback or recommendations i just need it as a daily for now.

You could just use the block and head, then keep your intake and exhaust etc. The one thing about the carb version D15B is there should also be a mechanical fuel pump connected to the head. You would just need to remove the pump and put a block off plate with Permatex ultimate grey or such gasket maker.

My wife's DX had the JDM Carb D15B swap done to it prior to my purchase of it. Very common, works fine. The motor was old and tired so I finally threw a used D15B7 into it. No change in power or how it ran.

Also know, you can use a D15B2 from the 88-91 era cars. It's practically identicle to the D15B7 except it's OBD0 instead of OBD1 if I recall correctly. You would just do the same thing of keep your intake/fuel and exhaust.

You will want to save your engine harness. If I remember right, the majority of it is stuck onto the intake manifold so if you keep that, you should be keeping the engine harness.
