Default Del Sol Engine Question

I want to buy an early '90s Del Sol, and add a turbo kit, and intake, and exhaust as well. I wanted to know if the stock engine can handle it w/o having to make and changes.

sure it can, granted there's nothing with the motor from the start.

Yeah, on 15+ year old cars, finding an engine that's 100% is hard. If the engine isn't 100%, and you're going FI, you're better off doing a decent build-up for FI instead of risking shrapnel spewing into your turbo.

I'm the sole owner of my 97 DSV, and even it's B16A2 & S21 are starting to turn for the worse. It's always been a daily driver, and after that many years the little things start to add up.

turbo kit and an intake. Do some research dude.

In general though, d-series motors (come in all del sols except the 94-97 VTEC model) are very strong motors. You could boost a stock d on 10-12 lbs with no major issues as long as its in okay shape. Do a compression and leakdown test prior to buying the car if these are you plans.

also, dont buy an ssautocrome kit off ebay. bad idea

dont do what i did.. boosted a del sol factory d15b7 auto.. pushed 6 pounds and blew the head gasket.. not worth it.. save the money you would spend on the turbo kit and buy a decent motor... then boost it..
